Robinsons Galleria is a well-known shopping mall located in the intersection of Ortigas Avenue and EDSA in Quezon City (Wikipedia Article), Philippines. The 5-level mall, Robinson’s first, stands on an area that was witness to one of the memorable moments of Philippine history, the People Power Revolution (Wikipedia Article) of 1986. The historic EDSA Shrine with the small church at its base is located right outside Robinsons Galleria.

Opened in 1990, it was expanded in 1997 and renovated in 2010 to be the mall that it currently is. The complex where it is located includes the Galleria Corporate Center, Robinsons-Equitable Tower (Wikipedia Article), Holiday Inn Galleria Manila Hotel, Crowne Galleria Manila Hotel and Galleria Regency Hotel.

There are over 500 local and international shops and dining outlets. Some flagship stores located in the mall include Robinsons Department Store with a wide selection of women, men and children’s fashion wear as well as toys, cosmetic, housewares and school supplies. Robinsons Supermarket has fresh produce, food items, laundry and cleaning supplies.

Other shops include Toys R Us, the popular international toy store and Handyman Do It Best, the one stop shop for your hardware needs. International brands like Steve Madden, Marks and Spencer, Pierre Cardin and Lacoste have set up shops at the mall.

The Robinsons Food Court has dozens of options like Handaan Filipino cuisine, Honey Kimchi, Yoshinoya and Chin’s Express together with fastfood outlets like Chowking, McDonalds and KFC.
In the 2010 renovation, Veranda was added to serve as an al-fresco dining area with food outlets like Banapple with great breakfasts and Starbucks Coffee where you can enjoy good food in a more relaxed ambiance.

Different types of cuisine are well-represented at Robinsons Galleria including Rai Rai Ken with modern Japanese food, Seoul Garden Hotpot with its Korean specialties, Pho Hoa Vietnamese Restaurant, The Thai Kitchen and Classic Savory that serves flavorful Chinese food.

Watch the latest local and international film releases at any of the ten modern cinemas at Robinsons Movieworld including two 3D cinemas. There is also a bingo center, bowling hall, billiards and video gaming center to keep everyone entertained. At the 4th level is Kidzoona which is an indoor fantasy park designed for the young ones.

How to Get There

Taxis will take you directly to the door of the mall. Buses that ply along EDSA will make a stop at Robinsons Galleria. If you opt to take the MRT, alight at the Ortigas station and exit at the northbound side then take a long walk of about 500 meters to the mall or a short walk to SM Megamall bus stop and take the bus that stops right at Galleria.

Tourist Tips

Just like any place in Metro Manila, always be wary of strangers who approach you for anything as well as pickpockets that abound in congested places like the malls.
