HistoryGateway Mall was opened to the public in 2004. The Gateway Tower with the 6 level mall extension, 26 levels of office space, two levels of penthouse restaurants, and a helipad was opened in July 2013. The mall extension is seamlessly connected to the main mall and added 10,000 square meters more of leasable area to the former 85,000 square meters.

ShoppingThe biggest National Bookstore, the Philippine's largest bookstore chain, is located at this mall. Its anchor stores include the posh Rustan's Department Store and Rustan's Supermarket. Several international and foreign brands are housed here including Papemelroti, a local company that sells handmade gifts and crafts including those made of paper, wire and wood. Bibliophiles will particularly like the wide assortment of local and imported books available at Fully Booked.
Leisurewear and outdoor clothes like jackets and trousers are available at the UK-based Regatta shop at Level 2 while ladies will have a field day at Thailand brand Espada's latest collection of clothes and accessories including chic bags and purses. The popular Crocs footwear from the U.S. with its shoes, sandals, and clogs can be found at Level 2.
DiningOne of the mall's anchors is Food Express at Level 3 that hosts a feast of food shops including international fast food chains like Taco Bell, Wendy's, Pizza Hut, and Burger King. Other restaurants worth visiting include Cibo, an upscale Italian restaurant with specialties like Farfalle alla Veneziana and Pizza Cavialle Salmone. Italianni's is another popular restaurant chain that originated in Italy and serves delectable pasta, pizza, and wings.

EntertainmentGateway Cineplex 10 is popular for having the Globe Platinum Cinema, the first theater in the Philippines with La-Z Boy seats, unlimited popcorn and drinks. This was long before SM Mall of Asia with the second La-Z Boy theater was built. It is also the first mall to have a Cineplex or a cinema complex of 10 cinemas, all with stadium seats and Dolby Digital sound. The latest local and international films are shown in these 10 cinemas.
Time Zone Arena at Levels 3 and 4 is a family entertainment center with the latest arcade games for the kids and adults alike.
How to Get ThereGateway Mall is connected to 2 major train lines: the MRT Line 3 and LRT Line 2. From the MRT 3 Cubao station, go through Farmer's Market then on to the connecting footbridge to Gateway Mall. The LRT 2 Araneta Center station is directly connected to the mall.
You can also take the bus to Cubao from Mandaluyong and Pasig and stop directly at Gateway Mall. Jeepneys and FX (air-conditioned utility vehicles) to Cubao are available from Divisoria, Taft, Recto, Magsaysay Boulevard, and Aurora Boulevard. Get off at the Araneta Center station. From Libis and Eastwood in Quezon City, take the jeepney going to Cubao and get off at Aurora Boulevard near Rustan's Superstore or Aurora Arcade. Walk passing by Isetann and the LRT Araneta Center Station which is connected to Gateway Mall.
Travel TipsCubao is a highly congested place and even with the security measures enforced by Gateway Mall including roving security personnel, it is always best to be on the side of caution and be alert for pickpockets, hold-uppers and con artists who will use different techniques to rob you of your valuables. Do not allow yourself to be distracted and keep all belongings close to you.
Although most establishments accept all types of credit cards, there may be smaller ones who will not so be prepared and bring some cash. Foreign exchange shops Asian FX Money Exchange and IFX Foreign Exchange are available at the Second Level of Gateway Mall.
