The province of Bukidnon (Wikipedia Article) boasts its very own extreme outdoor playground, the Dahilayan Adventure and Forest Park. It is located in Barangay Dahilayan, Bukidnon, in Mindanao. The park is strategically situated along the foot of Mt. Kitanglad Mountain Range, the fourth-highest mountain in the Philippines. Dahilayan Adventure and Forest Park also features the longest Dual Zip line in Asia. It is a must-try experience for all outdoor enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies. Aside from its main attraction, the forest park is also one the country’s most promising outdoor destinations as it offers a wide selection of exciting outdoor activities and modern amenities.

Attractions and Activities

Dahilayan Adventure and Forest Park is open from Monday to Sunday, including holidays. The main attraction of the park includes the Dual Zip line, but a lot of tourists still visit the place for its panoramic mountain scenery and cold climate.

Dual Zip line

It is known as the longest Dual Zip line in Asia. The two cables are 2,756 feet long and has an altitude of over 4,700 feet above sea level. The zip line can hold two people at a time and can reach speeds of up to 56 miles/h. The ride enforces no age limit, but the weight of the guests must be within 40-120 kg.

Rates

  • For all 3 zip lines - ₱600 ($13)
  • For the 2,756 feet zip line - ₱500 ($11)
  • For the 320 and 492 feet zip line - ₱250 ($5.50)

Dropzone

The first adrenaline-pumping, extreme pendulum swing in the Philippines. Guests are strapped with a safety harness and dropped from a 120 feet platform into a man-made lake.

ATV & Buggy Trail Adventure

Guests can take a guided tour on a buggy or an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) along a 2.0 miles trail. The park trail features a challenging, rough terrain and steep clay hills.

Zorbit

A maximum of two people can take the ride at a time. Guests are strapped inside a giant inflated ball which is then rolled down a hill. Another variation of the ride is called AquaZorbit, where water is added inside the ball to make the ride a little more interesting.

Bungee Bounce & Net Trampoline

Guests are strapped in a safety bungee harness while they jump on large trampolines. Net walls are also installed around the setup for additional safety.

Forest Putt Golf

An 18-hole nature-themed putting course. The adorable playground is a relaxing venue for both golf enthusiasts and children.

Dining

A day of extreme adventure will surely make anyone famished. The indoor Forest Park Café situated at the heart of Dahilayan Forest Park is the perfect place to satisfy your appetite. The restaurant serves a wide selection of gourmet meals, light snacks, and refreshments, including freshly hand-rolled pizzas and signature cinnamon rolls.

The Cowboy’s Grill, which is located at the Saddle Ridge Camp (outside the Forest Park) is also a great place to dine in. Local and international cuisines are served daily at very affordable prices.

Accommodation

The most recommended accommodation in Dahilayan is the Pine Grove Mountain Lodge. Pine Grove is a classy country club-inspired hotel just a few meters away from the Forest Park. It has eight guest rooms and a dormitory-type room. Each room can accommodate a maximum of 3 people and features a panoramic view of the mountainous landscape. Guests can also make bonfires at the lodge’s private garden.

How to Get There

From Manila, tourists can take a domestic flight to Cagayan de Oro. All flights going to CDO are catered at the Laguindingan International Airport (located an hour away from the city proper).

When you arrive at the airport, taxis, and shuttle vans can take you directly to Dahilayan, Bukidnon. For those who are already in Cagayan, they can either arrange their own private transportation to Dahilayan or commute by taking a taxi or jeepney ride to Agora Bus Terminal.

From the bus terminal, you can catch a jeepney ride or a shuttle van to Camp Philips. The travel time from the city is approximately one hour. Once you reach Camp Philips, habal-habals (motorbikes) and tricycles can take you directly to Dahilayan Adventure and Forest Park.

Shuttle rides are also offered by the Dahilayan Adventure and Forest Park every Saturdays. (Pick-up and drop-off point is at Coffeeworks Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro)

Travel Tips

When visiting the Forest Park, tourists are advised to bring a jacket due to Bukidnon’s very cold climate.
