Chapada das Mesas National Park
Wikipedia | Google | Google Images | FlickrChapada Das Mesas National Park, formed in 2005, is a relatively new national park located in Brazil. Its name is inspired from the plateaus it houses, that are shaped like stone tables. This park is an attempt by the environmental agencies to protect Cerrado , of which it currently protects up to 160,046 hectares of the area.
In every turn, the spectacular beauty of this place is guaranteed to enchant you. The national park is incredibly rich in the different species of animals and plants it is home to. The beauty is inexplicably gorgeous with canyons, red plateaus, rock formation, and mystical waterfalls (the tallest at 46 m) at every corner. The pools have cool, crystal clear water for the tourists to enjoy. With the lush greens and beautiful waterfalls, every corner feels like the perfect postcard.
You can even engage in extreme sports here, including mountain biking, cavalcade, skydiving, canyoning, trekking, paragliding, rafting, and arborism. Along with that, there are tracking trails that lead to beaches, boat rides, and attractions like Morro das Figuras and Morro do Chapeu.
How To Travel ThereThere are regular flights available from São Luís or Brasília to Imperatriz, from where you have to travel to Carolina. The park is approximately situated 50 miles from there.
